Karnack wins Points
Championship
Gaastra's Nick Karnack waited till the final Stock Car Race of
the season at Riverside Raceway in Eagle River before taking the
top spot in the points. Thus the 4-Cylinder Stock Car Racer
ended by winning the 2008 Points Championship.
Karnack went into the final race trailing Bruce Crossing's Leo
Nippa by a mere 16 points. When Nippa was unable to race in
the feature, the championship was Karnack's. Karnack ended with
526 points, Nippa ended with 510 points.
Rhinelander's Bobby Sheldon, Jr. took 3rd with 387. The Bruce
Crossing tandem of Logan Lannett and Shane Johnson ended the
year with 325 points.
Rhinelander's Rob Rodziczak held off fellow Rhinelander driver,
Jeff McDonald by a mere 14 points to take the WISSOTA Midwest
Mod Points Championship. Rodziczak had 566 points, McDonald had
552. Eagle River's Troy Smart ended in 3rd place with 436
points.
The 2007 Point Champions in both the WISSOTA Street Stock and
Riverside Pure Stock retained their crown.
In the WISSOTA Street Stock, Hurley's "Jammin" John Kallas edged
out Rhinelander's Mark Schueneman by only 15 points, 587-572.
Bruce Crossing's Jordan Kurtti had 543 points.
Connover's Chad Rosinski had clinched another Pure Stock Point
Title weeks ago. Rosinski tallied 451 points. Rhinelander's
Dennis Tushoski who didn't start racing till midway through the
season took 2nd place with 365 points, with Eagle River's Ron
Reese coming in third with 284 points.
